Erotica Grownup Stories - A Confession!

OK - it is on the market! And many it too! As a relative newcomer to indie e-publishing the primary time I actually observed simply how much erotica was swilling round in cyber space was when I uploaded my debut novel, and noticed this enormous sub-section that had previously passed me by. I'll be trustworthy, I held my nose and clicked away.

Then I grew curious. Late at night, nothing on the telly and nothing better to do I investigated further. (A-hem. Within the title of research clearly!)

I discovered that there have been genres within genres and reader, I read on. As with all indie publishing, there was good unhealthy and mama do not go there. But what intrigued me was the viewers fan base. Contrary to what I would expected, this wasn't the soiled mac brigade - though one or two would most likely qualify! The readers' forums attracted folk of all ages, primarily youthful - although I think that's true throughout the whole of the e-ebook industry - however they were folks like me - searching for a properly thought out storyline with likeable characters who simply occurred to rise up to naughties more often.

Erotica is mostly short, sweet(ish) and to the point. Many are free of charge or around the 99 cent mark. And there actually is something for everybody, from slightly heavy petting to sizzling and steamy and downright smutty. All in your perspective I suppose, however the big Indie writer shops - I'm talking about the river and Smashwords whilst very liberal do have standards and the most important is that scenes could be wet and wild but MUST only involve consenting adults.

Since I enjoy stories with a slight touch of fantasy, I'll admit I started to see the attraction here. I mean - who hasn't watched Rafael Nadal taking part in tennis and never dreamed up slightly scene during which you're his private ball girl? (whoops did that slip out?)

But the big attraction for me is you'll be able to actually let rip together with your imagination. Writing YA fantasy is great enjoyable, however without sounding up myself, it can be demanding writing motion and adventure with sensible dialogue with no more than an occasional gentle curse. Writing Erotica is at the different finish of the spectrum - however actually - isn't all of it fantasy?

All us girls are half in love with Darcy, however we'd probably run a mile if we met such a boor in person.

Same with Erotica - if I met a tall darkish handsome stranger who wished to dominate I might inform him precisely the place to stay it! But it surely's enjoyable to learn about.

And that is why shouldn't we bask in our naughty but nice side from time to time? Go on - give it a go! I dare you.
